Chair Parts

Arm rest spindles

We will duplicate arm rest spindles. Disassemble opposite side of chair arm rest and remove the matching spindle. Use the cost calculator to determine estimated cost and send it to us. If this is not possible send adjacent spindle and specify the length of the missing spindle. Measure the distance from the bottom of the hole at one end to the bottom of the hole at the other. Back spindles

We will duplicate back spindles. Most back spindles are slightly different lengths. When assembled measure from the bottom of the one hole to the bottom of the other and send us the measurement along with the sample spindle. Bent spindles will only be duplicated with a special request that will require a quote after we receive the sample spindle. See cost page for pricing. Foot rails (rungs)

We will duplicate foot rails or rungs. As in all cases it is better to send the broken parts of the foot rail so we can accurately duplicate it. The next alternative is to remove the opposite side and send it to us. If all the foot spindles are missing e-mail us for further information. Foot rails are attached to the legs by tenons or dowels. Since very few chairs are square with the rungs at a 90 degree angle from the legs. Special consideration must be taken when making the rungs. On some chairs the mortise hole is drilled at the proper angle to receive the rung. But some rungs have the tenon ends angled to compensate for the shape of the chair. This is the part that is critical to duplicating foot rails or rungs. This is why we need the exact sample or the opposite side. See cost page for pricing. Chair top rails

We repair and duplicate chair top rails. Only flat chair top rails will be duplicated. Curved or carved chair top rails will be done on a special request which requires a price quote after we receive the sample. It is important that we have the original piece to duplicate. Splats

We duplicate splats. Although it may not be necessary to remake back splats, most can be repaired. If duplication is required send a sample to us. Seat rails

Seat rails may be duplicated or repaired. Some times duplication is the better option. Seat rails are usually doweled at the joints. If only the dowels are broken we can replace them. Chair legs

Chair legs can be duplicated if the leg is split or damaged i.e.: nicks or chewed by your pet. Send us the damaged leg. If a leg is missing, send us a sample from an identical chair or the remaining leg (front for front or back for back). This is important to duplicate the length and angle of the mortise holes for the rungs. If the pin at the top is broken or split and nothing is wrong with the leg, normally we can repair it. Table Parts

Table Legs

Table parts can be duplicated as long as they can be lathed or machined with normal woodworking procedures. Table legs tend to be fluted or spiraled which requires specialized equipment. At this time Wood Chair Parts does not have that ability to reproduce fluting and spirals. We will however repair your table legs. Normally table legs break at the top or at the foot of the leg, which can be repaired. If you need to replace or repair any table part, e-mail us with a description and we will assist you in the best method of restoration. Table rails, skirting and foot rails

We can duplicate most table spindles and skirting, except for radius or bent parts. These parts are very expensive to reproduce. The best alternative is to repair the part. Foot rails are sometimes turned spindles and are also flat stock machined. No matter the design of the leg support system of your table we can either repair or duplicate the part. No carved or bent work. We will however use solid stock to reproduce any radius rails without steam bending. For questions and procedures in duplicating rails e-mail us. Only straight skirting will be duplicated. Chances are the skirting can be repaired and is your best option.
